Residential Programs
Live-in programs provide a structured, therapeutic, welcoming environment for youth aged 14 to 18 years old to work through their challenges. Opportunities to develop new resources, responsibilities and constructive patterns of relating are offered. Families are encouraged to participate.
The Annex House and Oolagen House are both conveniently located in downtown neighbourhoods. Services are free and there is no cost to the youth or their family. Psychiatric services are also available if required. For further information contact Chuck Nagle, Residential Manager at 416/395-0660 ext: 233.
Annex House is a co-ed residential treatment program for seven youth between 14 and 18 years of age who are clients of Metro Children's Aid Society. Program staff includes eight child and youth workers and one resource worker.
Referrals are made directly from Metro Children's Aid Society to the residential manager. The youth then moves into the house and is assessed within the first week. The assessment includes an interview with the youth, child care worker and family.
Oolagen House houses seven co-ed adolescents, 14 to 18 years old. The program provides a structured, therapeutic environment in which adolescents can work through their challenges and are provided with opportunities to develop new resources, responsibilities and constructive patterns of relating. Program staff includes eight child and youth workers, one individual and family therapist and one consulting psychiatrist.
Referrals are made directly to Oolagen’s residential intake worker. Youth and families are offered tours of the residence as a preliminary step to assessment interviews. Those considering residence are offered an interview with the assessment team that includes the individual and family therapist, residential manager, house supervisor and child and youth worker. Referrals can be made directly to Oolagen’s residential intake worker at 416-395-0660. |
